I offered to make cupcakes for concessions for the show. I made vanilla and chocolate cupcakes and vanilla buttercream. I colored the frosting with yellow and green, nice sunny and springy colors. I made the cupcakes on Sunday and froze them, that was the first time that I have done that. They came out the freezer really well. So now that I know that works, I will be using that technique again. I decorated them with sprinkles. Here are couple of pictures.
The recipes, in case anyone wants to know are from are, the Vanilla cupcake recipe from Amy Sedaris Cookbook I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence. The Chocolate was from a cupcake kit I got for my birthday. The frosting is from the Cupcake Doctor Cupcake book.
We are doing Once Upon a Mattress. It is a super cute show, if you want to go see it here is the link:http://learn.southsuburbancollege.edu/theatre/mattress/mattressTickets.html

Those look so yummy! I want a cupcake now. =]
I have to tell you – I am completely jealous of your mad frosting abilities. What sort of tip did you use for those? They look delicious!
I used these wilton tips, I cannot remember what number they are. One is a star tip, that I know for sure. They are really big tips as well.
love the colors you use with your frosting…makes cupcakes even more fun!
