My mother and I are throwing a bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law Rory. Instead of a cake, I am making cupcakes. I am known in the family for my cupcakes. I am going to toot [toot] my own horn and say that my cupcakes are awesome! I am making two different kinds. Vanilla cake and chocolate cake. The frosting? Swiss Meringe Buttercream. The best frosting ever. The decorations were inspired from a Martha Stewart Podcast on Monogram cupcakes. She rolled out fondant and cut out small hearts and embossed a monogram on each heart. The hearts get hard and then you stick them in the frosting swirl. Yesterday I made the hearts. They turned out really cute. They need time to dry, its been really humid here, so they are not quite hard yet, but they will be by the end of the week. Here are a few pictures of the results.
Next post: The cupcakes themselves.
